Imped­ance check

Exclu­sive sys­tem devel­oped by Cometa that auto­mat­i­cally checks the imped­ance of the skin dur­ing the pre-​acquisition phase. Each elec­trode has a ded­i­cated cir­cuit to mea­sure the imped­ance of the electrode/​skin con­tact; if it is above a ref­er­ence thresh­old, the two-​color led on the probes will turn from green to orange, sig­nalling an exces­sive imped­ance and call­ing for a bet­ter place­ment of the elec­trodes or a bet­ter prepa­ra­tion of the patient’s skin. This can also be mon­i­tored on the PC screen. This tech­nol­ogy, so far unheard of in the EMG mar­ket, will allow both the most expe­ri­enced users and the begin­ners to save time and increase accu­racy in their measurements.

Fixed Delay 13

All our EMG sys­tems have been devel­oped in order to have a fixed delay from the acqui­si­tion of the sig­nal to the ana­log out­put. This means that the delay is eas­ily remov­able when using the EMG syn­chro­nized with other sys­tems. The delay does not change with the num­ber of chan­nels used, and it is so short that it does not affect in any way real time mon­i­tor­ing of the sig­nals.

Diversity receiver

The «Diver­sity Mode» tech­nol­ogy used by our EMG sys­tems min­i­mizes the effect of wave reflec­tions from walls or objects; this is always present when work­ing indoor.These reflec­tions lead to some «black spots» in the work­ing area, where radio sig­nal could be lost. To get rid of this, Wave and Wave­plus EMG sys­tems are equipped with two receivers; if one receiver looses the sig­nal due to sub­trac­tive reflec­tions, the other is used to guar­an­tee the best data integrity.

Synchronous data logger

With this technique, transmitter n. 1 is the master of synchronization, while the other transmitters are slave. Transmitter n. 1 will take the role normally reserved for the USB receiver, and will keep all other transmitters perfectly synchronized. This function is also excludable for those situation where even intra-probe communication is very difficult or impossible, for example underwater or during some outdoor activities.

Inductive recharge

The inductive recharge technique for EMG and inertial transmitter has been develop by Cometa and has been used in all our systems since 2005. The main advantage of this solution is the total absence of metal contacts on the transmitter box, allowing the design of a closed plastic container. Using this technology, Cometa has developed the first EMG and inertial transmitters that are natively WATERPROOF and can be used for heavy duty applications where dirt, sweat and other agents could compromise the normal systems.
